What is Dermal Filler?

Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that involves injecting a small amount of filler material to enhance the lips.

A consultation is necessary for our experienced practitioners to assess your lips and discuss your desired outcome. They will then determine the amount of product required and the best technique to use to achieve your desired results.

Multiple sessions may be needed dependent on the conditions of your lips.

Allow a 2-week healing period, as you may experience swelling, bruising, and discomfort after the treatment. Aftercare is essential to maintaining the best results. The effects of lip augmentation can last between 6-18 months depending on your metabolism and lifestyle.

Chin Augmentation

Chin augmentation creates balance and structure by injecting dermal filler into the chin, creating the golden ratio and elongating the face. The procedure can also fill in dimples, and men can achieve a squared jawline.

Swelling and bruising may occur post-procedure, with the final result visible after two weeks. Top-ups should be scheduled no less than four weeks after the original procedure.

What is Dermal Filler?

Nasolabial Folds

Dermal filler can be used to add volume to nasolabial folds, also known as “smile lines”, and make them appear more subtle. The depth of the lines will determine the amount of filler needed, usually around 1ml per side.

The procedure is done with a cannula, and you can expect some swelling and bruising, which can be managed with paracetamol. The final result is visible after two weeks, and any necessary top-ups should be scheduled no less than four weeks after the original procedure.

What is Dermal Filler?

Marionette Lines

Marionette lines are folds that start from the corner of the lips and proceed diagonally down to the chin, caused by volume loss in the cheeks due to aging. Dermal filler can be injected into the marionette line and cheek to add volume, lift the lower face, and smoothen the fold. The procedure takes around 2 weeks to heal, with potential swelling and bruising that can be treated with paracetamol.

A consultation with your practitioner will determine the amount of filler needed, with a top-up no less than 4 weeks after the original procedure.

What is Dermal Filler?

Cheek Augmentation

Cheek augmentation can address ageing concerns by enhancing and adding volume where it has been lost, lifting the lower face, and smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. It can also be used to create a more structured look, giving the appearance of heightened cheekbones and a heart-shaped face, which can be combined with a chin augmentation for optimal results.

The procedure is performed with a cannula, ensuring safety and effectiveness. The amount of filler needed depends on the level of volume loss or desired structure, and will be discussed during the initial consultation with your practitioner. Swelling and bruising are normal post-procedure, with final results visible after 2 weeks, and any necessary top-ups should be scheduled no less than 4 weeks after the original treatment.

What is Dermal Filler?

Jawline Sculpting

Jawline sculpting defines or changes the jawline shape. The amount of filler needed varies depending on your preference, discussed in the consultation. The treatment enhances the angle and sharpness of the jawline, hides double chins and suits both feminine and masculine desires.

The jawline is injected using a cannula and needle for safer, more effective results. 1-3ml is typically needed per side and takes about two weeks to heal. You may need a top-up after four weeks. Swelling and bruising are expected for the first few days, and paracetamol can relieve any discomfort.

What is Dermal Filler?

Tear Trough

Tear trough filler is a popular solution for tired-looking eyes as it fills the hollows and minimises small eye bags, reducing dark circles and wrinkles. However, it is not effective for large bags or puffiness under the eyes. Only a small amount of filler, up to 0.5ml per side, is needed and a top-up is usually required after 6 weeks. Swelling and bruising can occur but are temporary.

The filler is injected with a cannula for safe delivery and takes around 6 weeks to fully heal and settle. Tear trough filler is recommended for only 1 in 3 clients. If you have puffy eyes, a skin booster may be a better treatment option.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a minimally invasive treatment that can straighten and contour the bridge of the nose, lift the tip, and lessen the look of the dorsal hump, with only a small amount of filler required.

A top-up is usually required six weeks after the initial treatment, with swelling and bruising expected for a few days.

Dermal filler treatments typically last between 6-18 months. This is dependant on multiple variables such as:

  • The area you had treated
  • Your lifestyle
  • Your metabolism
  • How much product you had injected
  • How regularly you attend top-up appointments

After your treatment, you can expect minimal downtime. Most clients return to work right away.

You can expect swelling, bruising and redness in the area which gradually increases within 24 hours post treatment and often lasts 2-4 days in total depending on the client. Regular use of a sterile cold pack and arnica gel (herbal remedy for bruising) may help to reduce these side effects within a quicker time frame.

It often takes around 2 weeks to see the final result.

This is very dependant on the client. For some clients, they may need more than one session to achieve their desired result. In which case we recommend leaving at-leased 4 weeks in between appointments to allow the body adequate time to heal.

If clients are wanting to maintain their desired result then top-ups typically are recommended within 6 months – 1 year. If unsure, we are happy to see you for a consultation to discuss this further.

You can expect minimal to no pain throughout the procedure. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand for 10-30 minutes to ease discomfort.

The filler itself contains an injectable local anaesthetic which starts to work throughout treatment.

For post procedure pain, we recommend taking paracetamol and keeping away from ibuprofen for 48 hours as it increased bruising.

Dermal fillers do not have to look unnatural. Using the correct technique and amount of product ensures natural results and a refreshed look through using products to restore volume loss subtly. Desired results will be discussed thoroughly in consultation to ensure you are happy.

Dermal fillers are used to fill out the presence of fine lines and wrinkles whilst also restoring volume due to collagen loss.

They also benefit the skin by increasing the hyaluronic acid levels within the dermis whilst increasing the collagen production within the area treated.

Dermal fillers may also help to disguise unwanted scars, give you a younger-looking skin, and allows you control of the results.

Another huge benefit of dermal fillers is that the results are instant and unlike surgery, often minimal to no downtime meaning you are able to continue with every day life instantly after treatment.

Most importantly, the use of dermal fillers helps to increase confident levels. We all might have little insecurities such as thin lips or wrinkles appearing on our skin. Many clients experience an increase in confident instantaneously after treatment.
